SENIOR PLANNER/SCHEDULER, PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE , Facilities-Campus Services and Maintenance-Repair and Maintenance , to increase the reliability of Facilities' equipment data and establish appropriate tasks for each piece of mechanical, electrical, fire alarm, fire suppression, piping, and plumbing equipment by ensuring preventive and predictive maintenance practices and principles are developed, implemented, and monitored. Will act in support of the preventive maintenance program campus-wide and review, analyze, and change equipment preventive maintenance needs across campus; and provide supervision, training, and mentoring to the planners, asset coordinator and maintenance coordinator. Will work under the general direction of the assistant manager of preventive maintenance, planning, and scheduling.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; at least five years' experience working in a trade or engineering area; at least five years' experience planning and scheduling maintenance projects; demonstrated, in-depth understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices and principles; practical experience in the planning and coordination of at least five of the following areas--HVAC, fire protection and plumbing, electrical, pipe-fitting, carpentry, painting, instrumentation, and general mechanical; ability to assess and prioritize work based on critical systems and equipment requirements, project commitments, age of work orders, resource availability, and customer satisfaction; supervisory experience; experience working with supervisors to establish priorities and assign resources; and experience using a maintenance planning system. Working Conditions: ascending/descending stairs; traversing the campus; moving about the job site and machinery to access equipment; remaining stationary for extended periods; and working from ladders, scaffolds, and other above-ground locations such as roofs. Personal protective equipment must be worn as required by the specific assignment. Environment contains dust, odors, and fumes, high levels of noise and temperature extremes. Work will be performed near steam and moving machinery, in tight areas and confined spaces such as manholes and crawl spaces, and with and around chemicals and solvents. Some work performed in research labs and animal facilities and outdoors in inclement weather.
Repair and Maintenance is a 24/7 operation. Must be available to respond to off-hour emergencies and provide standby supervisory coverage on a rotating basis on weekends and holidays.
