The Energy Management team within Georgetown University's Planning and Facilities management department is seeking a Controls Engineer
The Controls Engineer will perform technical controls installation and maintenance work in support of the HVAC service furnished to University facilities. This position is expected to:
Install, modify and update digital electronic controls for HVAC with the purpose of ensuring the proper and efficient operation of such equipment and efficient service to University facilities.
Calibrate and test room temperature sensors, duct sensors and other related devices.
Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC computer controls to ensure reliable service.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
The position reports to the Supervisor of Controls, who makes work assignments and provides technical assistance when needed. The employee works alone and with others on projects as required. The position is non-supervisory.

Requirements and Qualifications
Academic Level: High School
Practical Experience: Five years of progressively responsible experience in the installation, maintenance and operation of electronic devices including digital HVAC controls.
Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certification: Completion of a post high school program in electronic technology.
Physical Working Conditions:
The work requires the employee to lift and carry medium to heavy items; to walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend and crouch, and to reach and pull to work on equipment; and to use hands, arms and legs in using the tools and materials of the trade.
