Facilities Planning & Management is here to provide, maintain, and enhance the campus community in support of the University's mission. Facilities Planning & Management consists of two divisions whose combined scope encompasses all aspects of Facilities at California State University, San Bernardino: Facilities Management and Facilities Planning, Design & Construction.
Under general direction to support the San Bernardino and Palm Desert Campuses, Supervising Building Service Engineer (SBSE) leads a group of Building Service Engineers (BSEs) and Facilities Controls Specialists (FCSs) which maintains, services, repairs, and inspects heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, water, and plumbing equipment, systems, and controls both in the Central Heating and Air Conditioning Plant and in decentralized utility centers throughout the campus on a regular basis and as listed on the CSU Classification Standards of a Supervising Building Service Engineer.
The Supervising Building Service Engineer typically prioritizes and coordinates the work of multiple crews or projects; assign work to qualified crew members; provide overall technical leadership; determine and order necessary materials, supplies, equipment and staffing to meet work orders and preventive maintenance schedule; provide work and safety instructions; provide on-the job training and instructions to less skilled workers in trade and safety practices; provide written input on performance evaluations; prepare and issue written or oral work directives; monitor work in progress; inspect completed work to ensure it is in compliance with specifications, special instructions and sound trade practices; maintain computerized maintenance management systems, including accounting for labor, materials and purchasing, as well as prepare reports.
Employment Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Probationary with the possibility of converting to permanent.

Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, weekends and evenings may be required.
Knowledge of effective supervisory practices and techniques.
Knowledge of Journey-level Hvac knowledge of Mechanical systems.
Knowledge of federal and state building, construction, and safety codes pertaining to the Hvac Mechanical trade.
Ability to plan and direct the Hvac work of skilled trades workers and their semi-skilled assistants.
5 years as Journey level experience or equivalent education in a leadership/supervisory role in the Hvac Industry.
Basic Computer based Programs (Excel, Word, Adobe)
Knowledge of Large Chiller and Boiler Operations_ Centrally Located
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Education and Experience
Two or more years of experience as a journey-level plumber and one to two years in a lead/supervisory capacity.
EPA _ Universal License (Required)
10 years as Journey level experience or equivalent education in the HVAC industry
Anticipated Hiring Range: $6,375 - $7,226 per month
Classification Salary Range: $6,375 -$8,080 per month
