Performs supervisory, advanced technical and administrative supervision for electrical, plumbing and HVAC shops. Provides support as directed to the Manager of Technical Services. Directs and schedules the maintenance and repair of building equipment and systems by vendors and contractors. Assists in the implementation of the preventative maintenance plan for the University's many mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems on a campus wide basis. Assist in managing capital improvements and deferred maintenance projects.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Marine or Facilities Engineering. EIT or Licensed Professional Engineer. Certified Energy Manager.
Required Experience: 7+ years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of building centralized air-conditioning or electrical distribution and plumbing systems in a supervisory role.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: LICENSE REQUIREMENTS - Certificate of Qualification for Refrigeration System Operator of the City of New York - E.P.A. CFC Technician Certification. Advanced knowledge of DDC and pneumatic controls.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Previous experience in the installation and programming of building automation systems is preferred. Knowledge of chemical water testing and treatment methods and procedures. Gas turbine experience would be helpful.
