Description of Work:
FMP/BSM is seeking an individual with skill and experience in plumbing/steam-fitting systems installation and maintenance.
Requires knowledge of building systems and maintenance relating to commercial plumbing/steam-fitting systems and all associated codes and supporting systems.
Employee will use schematics, blueprint drawings, and trade tools and systems to conduct inspection, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of building plumbing/steam-fitting systems.
Perform all phases of general, aesthetic, and preventive maintenance within supervisor's specific guidelines.
Responsible for assisting Zone Preventive Maintenance Senior and Zone Preventive Maintenance Lead on tasks and projects related to the systematic inspection, detection, and correction of incipient failures of equipment or facilities either before they occur or before they develop into major defects.
This position works independently on tasks and performs moderately complex to complex tasks with varying levels of supervision.
This position will be expected to interact with customers and other employees in a professional manner that enhances work effectiveness for the zone Preventive Maintenance crew.
Must be available 24/7 by personal cell phone to support daily operations and respond to campus emergencies, as well as periodic on-call rotations on weekends and after hours.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma plus three (3) years of prior successful related work experience; equivalent experience/education will be considered. Work experience that demonstrates the ability to follow written and verbal directions. Demonstrated effective work habits including: commitment to quality work, time management and organizational skills, attention to detail, able to multi-task, and good record keeping skills. Experience that proves good judgment in making decisions, asking for help, bringing forward problems, and communicating with others, and working around moving machinery and electricity. Able to learn and act on new technical and/or complex information quickly. Valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in the building trades or participation in an apprentice program, or equivalent training. Two years of experience installing, maintaining, repairing all types of hydronics, heating/hot water, waste water, and ventilation systems and associated plumbing systems. One year of preventive maintenance program work. Evidence of performing or developing preventive maintenance checks and services, schedules, and interpreting diagnostic information related to proactive maintenance programs. Knowledge of or experience with building codes, electrical codes and fire codes. City of Lincoln Journeyman's Plumbing License.
