Gateway Community & Technical College invites applications for a Maintenance Technician. This full-time position will troubleshoot and perform maintenance on all utility systems including electrical circuits, motor controls, safety circuits, steam plant, and HVAC systems utilizing specialized equipment and skills. Also will clean and maintain campus facilities including restrooms, classrooms, offices, and hallways.
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the campus and rooms, performing maintenance including, but not limited to, electrical circuits/components, plumbing fixtures and piping, painting, basic carpentry and HVAC.
General building/grounds maintenance including sidewalk snow removal and setting up and moving furniture for events and realignment of offices and classrooms.
Securing the building, filling in for absences.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses:
High School/GED, or equivalent.
Driver's License and clean driving record.
2 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
**Must be able to verify skills by taking a building maintenance aptitude test and scoring proficient.
Knowledgeable of low and high-voltage circuits up to 480 volt/3 phase electric.
Electrical circuitry knowledge must include lighting, ballast, switches, and motors.
Must be skilled at plumbing repair including changing fixtures, piping, commode and faucet components, and common plumbing issues.
Must have basic knowledge of HVAC equipment such as chillers, boilers, vav boxes, RTUs, and controls
Preferred experience in the operation of floor buffer, weed-eater, driving truck/utility vehicle with snow blade and salt spreader, operating leaf blower, shop vac, carpet cleaning machines, scissor lift, and forklift.
Occasionally lift 100 pounds
Must be able to climb up and down ladders.
