The Manager of the Project Management Office oversees the development and completion of building construction and rehabilitation projects. Assists with planning annual and future project plans and budgets. Directs the organization and scheduling of projects and overseeing members of project teams to keep them on task. Collaborates with department leaders, contractors, inspectors of record, and regulatory officials. Ensures compliance with regulatory codes, safety, and coordination with maintenance activities. The Manager investigates, scopes, and oversees the design and construction of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, including replacements and upgrades. Oversees the evaluation of installed equipment and evaluates needs for future hardware. Evaluates facility standards and recommends improvements for processes and procedures. Ensures facilities maintenance and associated projects comply with organizational and governmental safety regulations. Participates in the planning and installation of new facility systems and oversees facility upgrade and maintenance projects.

Manages the Project Management Office overseeing the planning, budgeting, and scheduling of organization wide construction/maintenance projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
Strategically assesses the effectiveness of current projects in achieving organization objectives Identifies best practices and benchmarks and develops recommendations for modifications to align strategy and business goals. Notifies appropriate groups when there are any changes to projects.
Monitors program efficiency, and implements methods to establish program accountability and measure success. Revises processes and procedures to reflect contemporary approaches to project management and to improve program effectiveness. Ensures Methods of Procedures are accurate and submitted for construction procedures in a timely manner.
Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; recruits, employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff. Develops and promotes strategies and policies. Directs and oversees the design and implementation of projects, initiatives, and services that are responsive to needs and objectives of the institution.
Effectively manages and collaborates with vendors and external partners, including managing performance of contracts, to ensure maximum values of services are delivered while adhering to LPCHS, HCAI (OSHPD), and other government regulation.
Ensures team/direct report coordination and communication of utility shutdown requests and facility impact with LPCH stakeholders. Contributes to emergency procedures and responds to emergency facilities situations.
Participates in the development and implementation of operating budgets and management decision making of overall resource requirements (e.g. people, systems, and equipment).
Provides leadership and consultation to hospital management on high-impact construction issues; provides guidance regarding project timelines, progress, utility shutdowns, and other impacts. Collaborates with safety professionals to ensure work authorization documentation is accurate and enforced. Maintains warranty information on equipment and oversees resolution on claims.
Assists in the evaluation of systems with respect to performance, reliability, energy cost, maintainability, safety, and life cycle costs and make recommendations for updates, repairs and installations. Provides training for newly installed systems.
Performs management functions by interviewing and hiring staff members; providing or arranging for training for subordinates; evaluating performance; and recommending or initiating personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, merit salary increases, or disciplinary action in order to ensure adequate and competent staffing as well as initiating or recommending responses to employee grievances.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or similar field
Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
License/Certification: None Required. PMP preferred.
