In coordination with the Maintenance Supervisor, the Housing Maintenance Leader's primary responsibility is to ensure that all completed housing maintenance work orders are done in an efficient, effective, and quality manner. Employee assessments, training, supervising, and communicating is a primary function of this position.
Performing and demonstrating top quality housing maintenance in all trades is also primary to this position.
Evaluates facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
Works with maintenance supervisor to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
Coordinate work with appropriate vendors in accordance with University procurement policies/procedures.
Collaborates with team members in the to ensure the top-quality maintenance and repairs.
Ensures maintenance and repair work is completely safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
Performs maintenance on more difficult or technical work orders.
Inspects work performed by team members/reviews work order logs and closes work orders with accurate record of work performed.
Assists with the assessment and documentation of vacant units/beds and performs review of vendor performed make-ready work.
Works in a diverse environment.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent with four or more years assessing repairs/refurbishing within a facilities management position; Experience in plumbing, HVAC, minor electrical, and carpentry. Four or more years of experience in a supervisory role or in work assignment/dispatch capacity. Must have a Class C Texas Operators Driver's License.
Bachelor's Degree. Five or more years of experience years assessing apartments/housing for repairs/refurbishing and making needed repairs; Experience in the TMA work order system; and/or Experience in higher education student housing.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and in a team environment as well as independently when needed.
