Repairs, services and maintains all buildings, grounds and equipment necessary for operations of the hospital complex and satellite facilities. Provides skilled services on all shifts in the installation, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and related equipment.
Performs maintenance repairs on all mechanical equipment such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning, boilers, pumps, compressors and generators.
Performs preventive maintenance checks and record data for permanent maintenance records on hospital related equipment.
Prioritizes and makes decisions when normal working conditions change due to mechanical equipment breakdown and failures.
Maintains safety in work areas. Inspects and performs preventive maintenance on large tonnage central plant chilling equipment.
Reads and interprets electrical, mechanical and pneumatic prints relating to HVAC equipment.
Plumbs, solders and brazes water, air and high-pressure refrigerant lines.
Performs preventive maintenance and troubleshoots all types of air distribution systems.
Performs air balancing measurements and adjustments as required.
Performs the required skilled services when recovering and recycling refrigerants.
Schedules and prints work orders for preventive maintenance, repairs and breakdowns utilizing the computerized preventive maintenance system.
Maintains and troubleshoots computerized and microprocessor-based control systems.
Utilizes the facilities energy management program to control the environment.
Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs all of the Facility's heating, chilled water, condenser, glycol and heat recovery loops.
Analyzes, maintains and controls chemicals in chilled water, condenser water, glycol and heating water circuits.
Installs and maintains refrigeration and air conditioning equipment related air compressors.
Orders parts and materials needed and assists in providing inventory of materials in stock.
**Must have EPA 608 certification, type I, II, III or IV (actively used within the last 6 months)**
Work is typically performed in a warehouse/maintenance or office environment; may require performance of work within clinical areas. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
