TITLE: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN, Hourly REPORTS TO: Manager - Operations SUPERVISES: None ______________________________________________________________________________ OBJECTIVE Performs internal and external general maintenance and facility upkeep for the main office, the Radcliff branch office, and as requested at the Ft. Knox office.
Performs routine inspection of internal and external grounds providing general maintenance of facility and equipment such as, but not limited to: changing light bulbs, upkeep of shredders, major plumbing/carpentry, painting, miscellaneous electrical tasks/moves plugs, assisting with video issues, testing and upkeep of emergency/exit lights, and removing debris from grounds. Advises supervisor of areas requiring additional attention.
Provides maintenance and repair services for miscellaneous appliances/equipment including but not limited to office intercom/speaker system, ice machines, and exterior automatic gate system.
Pressure washes and cleans patio, windows, soffit around building, and gutters.
Performs tile and drywall work as necessary.
Accompanies Fire Department during routine inspections.
Maintains supplies in employee breakroom to include recycling aluminum cans and weekly cleaning of the refrigerator.
Performs routine maintenance of heating/air conditioning (HVAC) and sprinkler systems to ensure optimal operating efficiency; serves as emergency on-call contact for sprinkler system.
Maintains HVAC, lighting, and plumbing at Ft. Knox location.
Shreds and disposes obsolete documents, transports boxes of materials (paper, etc.) to appropriate location.
Monitors shred boxes, empties as needed, provides secure shred bins to shred company for secure disposal.
Purchases and delivers supplies for Radcliff office (i.e. bottled water, cleaning supplies, etc.) and the main office (i.e. cups, towels, etc.).
Responsible for the maintenance and setup of the auditorium as needed.
Provides courier service/deliver/retrieve supplies from branch offices.
Responsible for watering interior and exterior potted plants at main office; responsible for mowing grass at main and branch offices (Radcliff/Fort Knox); responsible for landscaping duties, such as planting and trimming shrubs, at main and branch offices.
Assists in snow removal at main office.
Assists on an as needed basis as a backup forklift operator (i.e. unloading trucks, assisting with scrap metal recycling, etc.) and as a backup for recycling cardboard.
Responsible for the application of a preservative treatment to all new utility poles purchased by the Cooperative.
Responsible for maintaining flags and flag duties at the Elizabethtown office.
Performs monthly meter readings for electric, gas and water meters for the Fort Knox distribution system.
Adheres to Fort Knox EMD Environmental Compliance Requirements.
Disposes of waste products in a manner that is consistent with procedures deemed suitable by the Fort Knox DPW Environmental Department.
Other duties as assigned.
Works according to Nolin RECC safety and driving guidelines and reports all accidents immediately.
A high school diploma and five years of maintenance experience.
Maintains a clear understanding of maintenance practices to ensure a safe and properly functioning environment. Maintains knowledge of the HVAC, sprinkler and plumbing systems. Maintains an overall knowledge of Nolin RECC in order to provide general information. Understands Nolin RECC safety and driving guidelines.
Maintains a courteous, cooperative relationship with employees and the public. Internal: daily positive interface with employees at all levels within the Cooperative. External: weekly, or as needed, interactions with local vendors (plumbing, sprinkler system, heating/air conditioning, electrical, building/hardware/office suppliers, etc.).
ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Performs basic maintenance, carpentry, HVAC and plumbing utilizing tools and their components (screwdriver, hammer, drill, ladder, etc.). Ability to maneuver up to approximately seventy-five (75) pounds. Maintains positive, professional demeanor. Works in a team environment and thinks independently.
Both inside (50%) and outside (50%) work. Some overtime may be required.
Must possess a valid driver's license. May be asked to attend training courses relating to the position and the cooperative industry that may require overnight travel. First Aid and CPR certification required.
