The Washington University School of Medicine Operations & Facilities Management Department provides a range of services for the medical campus in a customer-focused, efficient, and sustainable manner. Operations & Facilities Management maintains 61 university buildings and provides operational, planning, and construction services to over 8.3 million gross square feet of space. We will open three new facilities between 2023 and 2025 with over 1.5M BGSF. In addition, the School of Medicine continues expanding its reach on and off campus in teaching, clinical care, and research. Our team plays a vital and important role in delivering care, research, and services.
Position acts as on-site maintenance coordinator for assigned areas, prioritizing and accomplishing or securing assistance for accomplishing a variety of maintenance conditions and problems.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Acts as primary Building Services contact for assigned area, prioritizing work and making initial assessment of conditions and services needs.
Estimates labor time, requisitions materials needed and requests other maintenance staff assistance for long range projects.
Monitors outside service schedules and equipment installation by outside contractors.
Follows through on work in progress to verify proper facility conditions are restored.
Performs variety of tasks involving HVAC, etc.
Keeps Building Services supervisors aware of facility conditions, problems and needs.
Maintains effective communication with other Facility Maintenance Coordinators and other maintenance staff.
Assist in working in Control Room when necessary and performs vacation relief when scheduled by supervisor.
Be available after normal working hours for emergency calls for Building Automation System issues.
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification with vocational training preferred.
Equivalent of two to four years related experience in skill trade functions with demonstrated ability to perform varied maintenance tasks.
Must have good customer service skills and the ability to communicate with diverse groups of people.
Individual must demonstrate the proficiency to perform the position being filled.
$24.24 - $37.58 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
