Under the direction of the Campus Associate Dean, the Campus Operations Manager provides management of the Arlington campus to include all facility operations: room scheduling and events management, lead with property management for all work orders, HVAC and access, technology liaison, services and vendor management, contract management, procurement, risk management, health/safety & security, building renovations and management of facility needs.
The Campus Operations Manager ensures the campus operations and services supports the needs of all faculty, staff and students and schedules services to deliver exceptional experiences. Position supervises campus assistants and schedules to ensure reception coverage, and evening and weekend coverage is adequate to support class and event needs.
The Campus Operations Manager works with the local technology personnel to ensure seamless delivery of academic and administrative systems in Arlington. Liaising with local staffing and NU's network-based information systems staff, this position will liaise and coordinate technology upgrades, new technology implementations, etc., with the NU's network-based staff.
This position requires sound judgment and ability to initiate work on behalf of the campus and leadership. This position at times may also require evening and weekend hours.
Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience, including campus or facility administration, business operations, technology, project management and customer relations. Ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple projects simultaneously. High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism required. The incumbent must be able to work as part of a team, analyze and develop solutions to complex issues, have the ability to develop productive and respectful interpersonal relationships, demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and detail oriented, be committed to excellence in customer service, and have the ability to handle multiple competing priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and Higher Education experience a plus.
4.Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Classroom & Event Management Serve as campus event coordinator, serving the needs of internal and external constituents. Coordinate use of all rooms, elevator access, catering, janitorial services, security, HVAC, and other services and liaise with technology support as needed. Maintain master campus calendar to ensure coordination of classes and events do not impede a successful learning environment. Manage events for internal constituents and for external space rentals. Supervise support staff/campus assistants to ensure quality customer experience during events.
Technology Management Serve as technology administrator and campus liaison with ITS and local technology vendors. Review and track technology contracts. Coordinate telephone and technology upgrades, new technology implementation, and repairs, support student Pharos and Husky ID printers. Maintain and track computer inventory. Perform basic troubleshooting and coordinate training for staff.
Campus Operations Provide overall management of the Arlington campus facility including campus operations, room scheduling for classes and events, services and technology. Supervise and manage schedule of 3-4 campus assistants to ensure adequate coverage for campus reception, opening & closing during non-business, evening and weekend hours as needed to support learning or event activities.
Establish controls and respond to all requests related to the facility (keys, phones, security, parking, office work orders, space maintenance, housekeeping, etc.). Act as risk management liaison and health & safety liaison. Manage mail services, deliveries, and property access. Oversee relationships with property management and all vendors. Includes contracted services with HVAC, technology, A/V, computers, and service vendor management (including but not limited to: security, parking, custodial, vending).
Special Projects & Project Management Oversee relationships with property management and all vendors (internal & external) as related to building renovations/buildouts, space upgrades, warranties, furniture purchases and inventory, repairs, office assignments, and signage. Work closely with campus leadership to ensure the campus budget is aligned to current and future campus needs.
