Join the University Housing Team as a Facilities Technician III! We are seeking energetic and skilled candidates to provide repair and maintenance of all mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
Work with a team of professionals focused on excellent customer service with no sales component. Base hours are all daytime hours with flexible start time. This position may have scheduled on-call with standby and overtime call back compensation or a rotating weekends schedule.

Inspects, maintains, and repairs specialized equipment and facilities to ensure property meets established standards and to prevent further damage. Assists with construction, design and operational maintenance as needed.
30% Utilizes specialized equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
15% Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness
15% Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
20% Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed
20% Responds to service requests for basic heating, plumbing, appliance, and general repair work according to established policies and procedures.
Assists and guides student workers
Assists in creating, leading, and participating in a collaborative environment
Communicates with residents and staff to address service requests
Drives vehicles to efficiently transport staff, move supplies, and urgently respond to emergency situations
Maintains facilities records and databases
Provides support and assists as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency
Performs duties in a highly diverse student and family housing community, including resident-occupied spaces, as well as in vacant and common areas.
Provides on-call/call back support for service and repair needs on nights and/or weekends.

Required: - 2 years relevant maintenance experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred: - Related experience in a multi-family, hospital, university housing, or similar environment - On-call experience - EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification - Relevant degree or certifications
Some positions require a valid driver's license that meets UW risk management standards. Candidates and the hiring manager will talk further about specific requirements of current openings at the interview stage.
Base hours will have a flexible start time with a primary schedule of Monday - Friday with hours between 7:00am and 5:30pm.
Multiple vacancies may be available. Some positions require on-call rotations. Some positions require weekend rotations. Schedule will be determined upon hire.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Appointment Type, Duration:
Minimum $22.90 HOURLY Depending on Qualifications This is a full-time appointment. The starting hourly wage is $22.90 or higher based on qualifications and includes a competitive retirement and benefits package.
