Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a Custodian 2 position to perform a variety of custodial and housekeeping tasks to maintain cleanliness and care of CBC campus buildings and grounds. The Custodian 2 focus is cleaning for all CBC locations, including both Richland and Pasco campuses, with specific duties, tasks, or combinations of tasks varying according to the assigned facilities and shift. The Day & Swing Shifts will coordinate with other shifts to ensure completion of tasks, and shall respond to customer requests at any CBC location as directed. This position reports to the Custodian 4.

Primary Responsibilities:
Perform custodial duties for campus buildings and facilities, which includes general cleaning and housekeeping duties of buildings/facilities, including refilling dispensers, and servicing of restrooms/showers, common areas, classrooms and offices;
Assist with set-up and tear-down of equipment needed for CBC events, meetings, classrooms and trainings including whiteboards/easels, furnishings, folding chairs and tables; assist with office moves and other revisions to work areas (e.g., moving workstations, furniture, supplies, etc.);
Perform custodial duties on Pasco and Richland campuses, but can support servicing for all surrounding CBC buildings and ground locations; ensure departmental/facility cleanliness and safety standards are met and take necessary corrective action for deficiencies; report need for repair and/or maintenance;
Operate and maintain assigned power equipment and hand-operated tools including vacuum, buffers/polishers, broom, mop, squeegee, high pressure washer, and ladder for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets and furniture;
Maintain proper cleaning techniques and safety practices for various custodial duties; strip, clean, buff and apply finish to floors, use high-speed floor buffers/polishers, vacuum and clean carpets;
Perform detailed floor care projects and other cleaning projects as scheduled;
Instruct custodians on custodial and housekeeping duties of new assignments, or as otherwise needed;
Clean whiteboards and erasers; dust and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; replace interior light bulbs, collect and dispose of garbage, empty trash and recycle containers; sweep and wash sidewalks and/or stairs as needed;
Check or inspect buildings for security purposes (unlocked doors or windows) and report unauthorized occupants and/or assist in determining condition of facility and equipment and take necessary corrective action for deficiencies;
Follow written and/or verbal Safety Data Sheet SDS instructions regarding the use of chemicals, supplies and equipment; comply with safety policies and procedures;
Perform cleaning and related activities in areas within a reasonable distance from buildings using hand-operated tools or small power equipment, including snow removal; wash interior and exterior windows; empty cigarette receptacles; and clear cobwebs;
Maintain custodial warehouse/closets including organizing, stocking, and cleaning; receive and distribute custodial supplies; make simple reports; requisition supplies and equipment; receive and distribute custodial supplies and equipment;
Assist Day, Swing & Grave Shifts;
Assist with custodial emergencies as needed;
Respond to customer requests utilizing a maintenance management software or as directed;
Maintain custodial vehicles in suitable condition; clean, fuel and request maintenance through work orders as needed;
Assume additional responsibilities as assigned in supervisor's absence;
Perform the custodial duties of a Custodian 1 as assigned; and
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
One (1) year of experience in custodial, general or building maintenance, grounds keeping, semi-skilled carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing repair work;
Ability to read, write and communicate in English;
Familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals; and
Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license or ability to obtain one before date of hire.
