Job Description
The Security & Facilities Technician is responsible for performing routine repairs and maintenance, and upholding the highest standards of safety and accountability for the campus and Archmere community. Working under the direction of the Director of Operations, this position will coordinate with the Marketing and Events Coordinator to provide support for evening events, and will also interact with students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors on a regular basis. The hours are 3:00 - 11:30 p.m. with a half-hour meal break.
Additional Responsibilities & Expectations
Maintenance
Perform routine plumbing, electrical, structural (e.g. drywall), and mechanical (e.g door & window hardware) repairs and painting.
Conduct regular inspections of mechanical rooms and electrical closets and ensure these spaces are clean and free of clutter.
Document and troubleshoot maintenance issues and seek help as needed.
Assist in the setup of events on campus.
Serve as the “on-call” facilities representative for evening events.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
Security
Uphold the highest standards of safety and accountability.
Patrol the campus via foot and vehicle to assure the safety of all students, parents, colleagues, and visitors.
Interact frequently with students, parents, colleagues, and visitors in a professional, ethical, and age-appropriate manner.
Secure buildings each evening.
Monitor security cameras.
Contact local police, fire, and ambulance to respond to on-campus emergencies.
Serve as a liaison and point of contact for evening events, communicating with the Marketing & Events Coordinator throughout the event.
Assist with parking for on-campus events.
Sign for and accept deliveries.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
Preferred Skills & Demonstrated Knowledge
The ability to troubleshoot issues and perform routine repairs.
A working knowledge of building systems: plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC.
A willingness to learn new skills.
Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.
Interpersonal skills to interact with students, parents, colleagues, and visitors in a professional manner.
Proficient with technology to respond to work orders, email, and inventory management.
Requirements
Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working throughout the campus.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
A valid driving license.

This position is entitled to all full-time employee benefits, including 2 weeks of paid vacation. This position is allotted 10 sick days per year, which can be accumulated and used toward any short-term disability.
