Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs off the college.

Under general supervision, this individual will serve as the instructor and will prepare and teach the Continuing Education, HVAC/Refrigeration Technician course. The purpose of the instruction is to equip students with the necessary occupation-specific and employability skills for success in the workplace.

1. High School Graduate with post-secondary HVAC/Refrigeration vocational education, apprenticeship, on-the-job training/experience, or informal training with experienced workers.
2. Chloro Fluoro Carbon (CFC) Refrigerant certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

1. Associate Degree in HVAC, Refrigeration, Construction, Education, or other related fields from an accredited post-secondary institution.

1. Three years working in the HVAC Refrigeration field or in a similar position.
2. At least three years of some supervisory experience.
3. Post-secondary teaching experience and/or industry training experience

1. Greater than three years working in the HVAC Refrigeration field or in a similar position.
2. Teaching experience at a Community College.
3. Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes.
4. Experience with distance learning and/or alternative instructional delivery systems.
