Job Description
Install, service, and maintain Building Automation System (BAS) / Controls systems in residential, academic, laboratories and commercial properties.
Perform routine maintenance and service work on various software systems, databases, controllers, and field devices.
Design and implement BAS programming and system graphics for all HVAC equipment types such as AHUs, VAVs, Chilled Water Systems, Heating Systems, etc.
Integrate, troubleshoot, and configure equipment control systems such as chiller controllers, boiler controllers, packaged roof tops, kitchen exhaust systems etc.
Utilize balancing equipment to measure air and water flows and make adjustments.
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC control systems on both routine and emergency basis.
Utilize a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to complete assigned work orders, preventative maintenance duties and provide updates on work order status.
Ability to work efficiently, productively, and with minimal supervision for the benefit of the University community.
Follow safety precautions with appropriate PPE, providing an environment for personal and public safety.
Maintain a clean work site and area that minimally interferes with University operations.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Skills MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5 years Building Automation programing experience.
Ability to design and implement graphics in Building Automation Systems.
Ability to identify and order all parts as required to complete Building Automation System work.
Ability to diagnose electrical problems on communication loops and low voltage systems.
Ability to work from ladders and lift heavy items up to 50 lbs.
Advanced arithmetic and measurement skills.
Physical ability to tour all areas (use of ladders, stairs; being in confined areas or heights).
Must have and maintain valid Massachusetts drivers license and daily use of an automobile.
High School Diploma or Equivalency.
Safely operate power tools and maintenance equipment.
Ability to adhere to all University policies and procedures.
Ability to speak, read, understand, and write fluently in the English language.
Knowledge of basic safety procedures.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (Any of the below):
Massachusetts refrigeration technician license
Electrical license
EPA recovery license
Mass Journeyman Plumbing License
Pipe fitter license
Oil burner license
Mass Journeyman sheet metal license
Ability to program in Schneider Electric Continuum / EcoStruxure, Distech Controls ECnet-4, or Siemens Insight
Ability to design and implement graphics in Schneider Electric Continuum / EcoStruxure, Distech Controls ECnet-4, or Siemens Insight
