Job Description:
Scope:
We are looking to add a skilled, motivated HVAC Tech to help maintain the college. This person must be able to install, troubleshoot, and test HVAC systems across campus.
Essential functions:
Repair, install, modify, and rebuild all H.V.A.C. and refrigeration systems and equipment:
Work completed according to standard practices and procedures and in a safe with all safety rules, practices, and procedures followed.
Monitor and test for leaks and adjust controls on all H.V.A.C. systems.
Prevent shutdown of H.V.A.C. and refrigeration systems from lack of oil and gas.
Chemical water treatment procedures performed according to agreed schedule.
Cleaning of all strainers to pump and cooling towers; prevent blockage and shutdown of the system.
Must be able to read and interpret blue prints and manuals
Perform preventative maintenance
Report all unsafe situations, unsafe equipment and material to your supervisor immediately.
On call on weekends when required.
Work overtime as needed which may include overnights, weekends, and or events.
When emergencies and/or extreme weather conditions occur, the functions of this position may be deemed essential, and employees must report to work and/or remain on duty
Wearing of uniforms (shirts, jackets); must be neat with clean-cut appearance.
Safety shoes required (College provides an annual stipend).
Safety glasses and equipment as required
Assist outside contractors as needed
Energy Management System experience a plus.
Experience as supervisor a plus
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have valid driver's license.
A Massachusetts Refrigeration License and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Refrigeration recovery certificate
HOURS:
Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
