Position Summary: The HVAC/R Technician I, is responsible for troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance on all types of HVAC/R systems. He/she is also responsible for retrofitting, calibrating, and modifying all facets of the environmental control systems; adjusting all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment to maintain high operational efficiency; and performing preventative maintenance on all equipment. This position is the advanced level HVAC/R Technician operating independently, requiring HVAC/R expertise, problem solving, organization, and attention to detail. Work situations vary from that of a complex nature to routine functions. Internal contacts are basically within the work group, but require interactions with staff and management throughout the organization. External contacts are required on a limited basis.
Minimum Requirements: Four years previous HVAC/R experience Two years experience in computers and EMCS (Energy Management Control System) Accomplished* in refrigeration, electric controls, pneumatic controls, pipe fitting, steam, pump, chilling & condensing water systems
*Highly skilled with the ability to trouble shoot, diagnose, and define problems, develop solutions, and implement corrective actions, all without direct supervision or review. This may be considered journeyman level.
