Position Summary Provides high-level administrative support for the Student Parent Support Program, including managing the BGSU federal CCAMPIS grant. Performs work of a confidential nature. Researches and analyzes reports and makes recommendations on follow-up actions. Interprets, develops and implements department policies and procedures. Serves as liaison with child care resource and referral agencies, child care providers, social service agencies and other partners. This is a part-time position that reports and works from the Firelands campus in Huron, Ohio
Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
Serves as administrative support lead for Student Parent Support Program. Engages in problem-solving with respect to unique challenges that affect student parents by triaging as needed, identifying resources that can help address issues, and suggesting and communicating potential solutions.
Supports federal CCAMPIS grant Principle Investigator (PI) with establishment of policies and procedures and problem solving. Engages in data collection and analysis and writes and edits reports and presentations. Collaborates with CCAMPIS grant PI to develop long range plans for the Student Parent Support Program.
Researches, establishes, and documents policies and procedures related to routine and new administrative functions stemming from the federal CCAMPIS grant and from foundation and institutional support for the Student Parent Support Program. Exercises discretion and initiative in reviewing, routing and responding to correspondence. Requests and reviews student and provider partner data to ensure compliance with CCAMPIS grant requirements.
Researches functions of various departments at BGSU and BGSU Firelands in addition to relevant functions provided by external partners to answer questions from current and prospective students, staff, faculty, and general public. Is the primary point of contact for child-care provider partners and provides administrative support for student and provider contracts as well as for distribution of CCAMPIS and foundation funds.
Assists the CCAMPIS grant PI in the management of grant expenses, the program’s budget, and budgets related to related projects. Gathers and analyzes data and makes recommendations related to budget allocation. Processes travel and expense reimbursements related to the program. Maintains inventory of office and program supplies, places orders as needed and processes invoices.
Serves as liaison for Student Parent Support Program. Engages in programming functions such as designing and coordinating recreational and educational student parent courses and events. Monitors and documents costs associated with programming. Engages in data collection, analysis, and documentation related to these contacts and makes data-driven recommendations related to future events and outreaches. Directly handles problems and concerns from student parents, elevating to PI as appropriate.
Performs typical meeting and event management functions including but not limited to scheduling in-person and virtual meetings, communicating meeting agenda and expectations, documenting meeting minutes, and related budgetary functions.
Interacts regularly with campus and community partners.
Coordinates with marketing department for internal and external marketing materials for the program, including print, web and social media.
Coordinates physical space upkeep for family-friendly spaces at BGSU Firelands (regular communication and work-orders to/from BGSU facilities for building maintenance issues {custodial, plumbing, electric, misc. issues}).
Communicate with ITS & CTS with respect to family-friendly space technology issues/needs.
Facilitates any unique needs that arise out of the partnerships with external partners.
May supervise student workers.
Arranges/coordinates transportation as needed.
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
Strong customer service, public speaking, and communication/interpersonal skills, project management experience.
Ability to coordinate efforts from multiple areas, manage conflicting priorities and problem solve under pressure.
Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy and respect for diverse backgrounds and belief systems.
Salary
Part-time, Administrative staff position available. Administrative Grade Level 353. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate Degree is required. Degree must be conferred at the time of application.
