Job Summary This Facilities Operations HVAC/R Supervisor will be responsible for:
Sourcing, qualifying, and contracting with outside consultants. Conducting reference validations, licensing status, insurance and bond requirements, and technical capabilities of vendors. Signing contract agreements on behalf of Children's Hospital Boston.
Coordinating and attending meetings between Hospital staff and outside consultants after the design process.
Interacting with construction administrators, project managers, and construction superintendents relating to District construction projects.
Coordinating and monitoring the work of outside vendors or contractors to insure compliance with Hospital and regulatory policies, procedures and standards.
Reviewing and inspecting work in progress for compliance with plans, specifications, codes and standards and providing status reports to management regarding project schedules and deadlines per program policies and guidelines.
Interviewing and recommending shop personnel selection. Training and orienting staff on Hospital and departmental policies and procedures, job duties and standards, and relevant systems, equipment and materials. Monitoring employee work performance, providing feedback and initiating disciplinary action when necessary.
Monitoring and enforcing compliance with all Hospital and regulatory safety and sanitation requirements including any storage, handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Providing related staff orientation and training. Developing and implementing internal policies and procedures necessary to ensure compliance.
Maintaining current knowledge of all applicable codes, regulations, standards and accreditation requirements for area of responsibility. Training and updating employees on compliance requirements. Ensuring Hospital compliance and maintaining required records.
Working with Hospital departments, and contractors to schedule and organize work to be done. Coordinating and scheduling any shutdown of services or disruption of affected departments' operations.
To qualify, you must have:
The level of knowledge typically acquired through completion of two years of occupationally specific education and four to five years' experience.
Associates or bachelor's degree in Facilities maintenance is preferred, specifically without any field experience. Four to Five years HVAC/R Leadership experience preferred
The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in‑depth, experienced‑based cross‑functional knowledge.
Proficiency in the use of Computers and Microsoft office products and programs preferred
Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well‑developed writing skills.
Shift/Hours:
Monday - Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm
