The Plant Superintendent is member of the CUIMC Facilities Management Engineering group and will have broad responsibly to overseeing HVAC and other infrastructure systems on the CUIMC Campus. This includes management of union staff.
Responsibilities
Supervising employees in the installation, code compliance, maintenance, and repair of systems
Directing the work force to achieve the goals of the department
Providing supervision for outside services or maintenance contracts as assigned
Performing diagnostic evaluations of systems and makes recommendations regarding improvements
Overseeing HVAC equipment such as chillers, boilers, air handling units, BMS, pumps heat exchangers, air conditioning and environmental boxes and air compressors
Emergency Power distribution such as, generators, transfer switches and load sheading
Ensuring completion of work in accordance with specifications and standards (both in-house services and contract services)
Works with other Facilities Management staff members of the Facilities Operations staff and outside contractors to ensure the most effective and efficient use of allocated manpower
Developing and implementing preventive maintenance procedures and schedules for all related mechanical equipment
Maintaining records of departmental activities using the computerized work order system and prepare all operational draft reports for review by the Assistant Director of Engineering
Maintaining logs and records prepared by the second and third shift mechanics and engineering staff and reports all abnormal incidents to the Assistant Director of Engineering
Scheduling of shift coverage for vacation, sick and other time off.
Performing related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
Must have strong working knowledge of plant systems including HVAC, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and both Pneumatic and DDC Controls.
Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical systems.
Supervisory experience necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
Completion of technical or training programs is preferred, but not required.
Licensed in High Pressure Boilers preferred
